The Chandler Center for Environmental studies is a mass timber facility built to be the new Wofford Environmental Studies Building. The building hosts both classrooms and offices for the college. The college valued both the warmth and aesthetics of mass timber as well as the carbon savings from building out of the material. This was crucial in portraying the meaning in a real world setting of the academics being taught in the building. Cross laminated timber decks and glulam beams were used throughout the building as the framing members.
Our specialty is our diversity - concrete, steel, masonry, mass timber, aluminum, bamboo...whatever is the best solution for the project is the solution we help you find and use.
