Britt, Peters and Associates provided a comprehensive parking deck condition assessments for two parking decks servicing the the Colonial Place Towers. Britt, Peters scope included a condition assessment report with photographs of deficencies observed, location of defeciencs and quantified and priortized list of repairs with project budget estimate for repair.
The deck associated with Colonial Place I is a 6 level, cast in place parking deck consisting of a mild reinforced concrete slab supported by cast in place concrete columns. The perimeter of the deck consists of precast spandrel panels attached to embedded steel plates in the slab and on the columns. The deck is approximately 15-20 years old, and consists of 654 parking spaces.
The deck associated with Colonial Place II is a 7 level, hybrid deck consisting of precast concrete joists that have a cast in place slab that is tied into the precast joists. The slab is supported by precast beams and cast in place columns. The perimeter of the deck consists primarily of precast spandrel panels attached with steel plates. The deck was originally 5 levels, with the top two levels being added at a later date. The deck consists of 774 parking spaces.
